In a dramatic display of how powerful the media is, A teenager received death threats, his school shut down... Why? He smirked at a provocateur banging a drum in his face... end of story. Well actually, that "activist" (aka provocateur) then lied to the media about what actually happened, The media then lied to the public about it, The public then re-posted those lies without checking the facts. An important realization dawns, It's our fault too, we, the public, should also be responsible for checking facts. In equal parts, the media and this rogue native American activist deserve to be exposed. This is an important reminder to journalists to not let ideology get the best of them, just calmly check the facts before publishing and re-posting, simple, especially if it's something that could ruin a young kids life! Remember this, that although a post can be deleted, or retractions issued, the bell cannot be un-rung and the genie cannot be put back into the bottle.
