Update on Occupy auckland Albert Park Developments on United We Strike Radio Marathon Jan 15 2012 01/14/2012
Suzie from the Occupy Auckland media team drops in to the United We Strike radio marathon, the movement is growing and currently there are a lot of very encouraging incidents particularly the support of the New Zealand police of the occupiers!
Add Comment After a suggestion by a good mate I decided to give Keith a ring and talk about the food bill and telling the truth about it on air and the consequences we wind up getting a bit of a talking to by your superiors!
Keith Stewart bravely speaks out against the food bill tyranny coming from the mantra of free trade from the US. It is very scary and you should be concerned! Unless of course you reckon some untrained moron with no warrant and a weapon can come on your property and tell you what you can and can't grow, who you can and can't share with and also be immune from any legal recourse!
I can't believe I got a full 10 minutes with Dudley man! Discussed what a conspiracy theorist is and why the left/right argument is false, including the insanity of state asset sales, the world bank and John Keys derivatives trading past.
_JUDGE RULES AGAINST POLICE LEGAL OPINION; OCCUPY AUCKLAND TO BE EVICTED ON CHRISTMAS EVE!! This morning we received word that despite the legal submission by the Area Commander of Auckland Police, who found that Occupy Auckland are peaceful protesters expressing freedom of speech & utilising their legal right to peacefully assemble in protest; that the Auckland District Court has found in favour of Auckland City Council & ordered Occupy Auckland to vacate Aotea Square by Christmas Eve, 2011. Occupy Auckland plans to appeal this judgement & defend our privileges under the Bill of Rights, for the benefit of all in Aotearoa. We would like to express our appreciation to all our supporters and to ask them for any urgent assistance and/or actions in solidarity that they are able to undertake. Please either come to the occupation with any ideas/resources that you have available to you and undertake urgent outreach to supporter networks to let everyone, worldwide, know of this gross injustice that is being perpetuated against us by the Court. There will be a media release issued following tonight's General Assembly (to be held at Aotea Square at 6pm). Kia Ora Koutou, Kia Kaha New Zealand!!! Kerre Woodham is a sassy host who can sometimes be a bit abrasive to some conspiracy theorists, so Vinny pays her a big complement in the opening and manages to suck 5 minutes of mainstream talk radio air time to highlight that when it comes to Occupy Wall Street Kerre Woodham finds it hard to get her head around. This might have something to do with her never doing so much as a google search to find out what their demands are. Climate Change cults and fluoride and number of good topics touched on. If you let the government tell you what you can and can't eat it is a very slippery slope indeed!
It appears as though Don Brash and his personal view to decriminalize Cannabis has ruffled feathers across the political spectrum and for the the first time in many years (if EVER) Cannabis Law reform is on the tips of media lips. As usually is the case when this happens, there are people who wish to put their 2c into the pot to make comments supported by a small section of society with 0 evidence to back up their opinions. Anyone in this day and age who thinks that Cannabis should not be Decriminalized or Legalized is without any form of credibility because the science has proven it safe and prohibition has proven to be a costly ineffective method for reducing any potential harms. How exactly is someones health greatly improved and protected by being sent to jail? The answer is IT DOESN'T and people need to wake up so the suffering of the cannabis community so it can end once and for all. Incidentally when the Netherlands liberalized their laws towards cannabis the rate of consumption in the general population went from 1 in 8 (NZ's current usage) to 1 in 21, when members of the adult public who had stopped smoking were asked why this had happened they replied "because my social circles changed." No longer being a criminal meant that many friendships were realized for the baseless acquaintances they truly were, a very similar phenomenon with drinking where if you don't like the people you're drinking with there's nothing to stop you from walking into a bar and drinking with someone else. In an illegal market this is not the case and many smokers will rarely have other friends that are not users. The other side of the coin is that drug dealers don't ask for ID, in a regulated market it will be far easier to keep it out of the hands of children, in my personal opinion the protection of the development of young minds is a primary objective in repealing prohibition. Youth are targeted by police in a consistent fashion, indeed, I asked a policeman one time what he looked for when attempting to find cannabis users, he said "groups of males under 25". In myopthis serves to create a young generation of cop haters with criminal convictions that will find it much more difficult to be productive members of society as their experience will teach them that the system itself is not to be trusted. It always winds me up to hear educated morons with no facts making vain attempts to debunk 9/11 conspiracy theorists, spitting the same rhetoric that have long since been disproven, in many cases by the morons own statements! 9/11 WAS an inside job, if you don't believe it, that's good, because this is not about belief this is about fact. The fact of the matter is that no steel frame building has EVER collapsed due to fire and I can say with confidence that they never will again. Here's a simple experiment that you can perform at home to disprove 9/11 Go to your barbeque and turn it on, wait 60 minutes. 2 questions, did the grill melt? NO. Did the Barbeque EXPLODE INTO ATOMIZED DUST? NO. Ergo 9/11 was an inside job. Vinny "MR NEWS" Eastwood
The Supreme Court of the United States decided that corporations could now spend unlimited amounts of money on political candidates, opening the door for billions of dollars from Exxon, Pfizer, Blackwater, Lockheed Martin and others to further buy off our representatives in state and national office. The decision affirms the legal notion that corporations have “personhood”, giving them every First Amendment right associated therewith. In fact, their rights go above and beyond that of an actual human, as normal citizens can only donate some $2,400 to a candidate for a specific election. This voice of the people will be drowned out by the literally billions that can now be spent by corporations. This decision is a national disgrace and further invites direct corporate control of all aspects of society. Remember that Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, the father of modern fascism, once said “Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power.” We are headed down a dangerous path. The only way to overturn this decision may be a constitutional amendment, redefining corporations as economic instruments accountable to the communities, and to nature, which they should serve rather than exploit. To achieve this will require a massive reinvigoration of democracy in the United States. Link to source: http://bit.ly/fuQJVC | AuthorVincent Eastwood (AKA MR.
